Our square telescoping material, also known as Telespar, is an ideal material choice for rack, shelving, platform, and conveyor applications, just to name a few. We have just the post for you if you are contemplating a project requiring square metal tubing.
Stock Sizes
Telespar comes in stock sizes ranging from 1-1/2” to 2-1/2” inches. Our mill used to roll 1-1/4” material (12F10 and 12F12), but this site has been all but discontinued and is only available via special order with a 100-ton minimum requirement. If you are in the early phase of a project, we strongly suggest using 1-1/2” as your minimum design basis. Doing so will minimize lead time and ensure material availability during the procurement phase of your project.
Holes or No Holes?
Telespar comes in solid and perforated configurations to accommodate a wide range of applications. The easiest way to spot the difference is to look at the part number called out in your drawing. Solid Telespar part numbers will always end with 10 (e.g., 1-1/2” Telespar is called out as 14F10) whereas perforated Telespar part numbers end with 12 (e.g., the part number for 1-1/2” perforated Telespar is 14F12). Perforated holes are 7/16” spaced on 1” centers.
Available Telespar Finishes
Telespar comes in Plain and Pre-Galvanized finishes. Plain material exits the rolling with an oiled finish. Pre-galvanized Telespar is galvanized conforming to ASTM specification A-653 des. G-90, with corner welds zinc coated after scarfing. The pre-galvanized material receives a conversion coating and a clear organic polymer topcoat for added corrosion resistance. Both materials can be powder-coated, but if your application includes welding, be sure to specify the plain finish.
Standard Lengths
Telespar comes in stock, 24-foot sections, but thanks to our high-speed production saws, we can custom cut Telespar to desired lengths, making it ready to use the moment it hits your dock.
Custom Powder Coated Finishes Available
